About Dennis Stevens

Project Ambush logoDennis is a New York City based artist and theorist, who is currently pursuing a doctorate of education (Ed.D.) degree in the art and art education at Teachers College/ Columbia University. Dennis' dissertation, which has a working title of: Consumption, Media & Protest:The market imperative and sites of resistance within art, craft and design practice, will address the topic of punking the paparazzi and other radical and deviant cultural manifestations.

Dennis holds an undergraduate B.F.A. Degree in Fine Arts from Clemson University and a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from San Jose State. He grew up in the upstate of South Carolina and also served for four years in the U.S Coast Guard.  He currently teaches as an adjunct professor at Queens College.  He is working on becoming an on-camera host so he can reclaim his concept for a TV show from E! and Ashton Kuchner.  Actually, Dennis is really interested in engaging with popular culture as an academic; the site DennisStevens.net is a step in that direction.

You can reach Dennis via the contact page on his blog site.
